Follow up - threat cleared

Good afternoon, Telluride Community,

We greatly appreciate your patience and understanding as we navigated today’s school closure and investigation into the threat that was directed at the school. As stated in this morning’s message, we decided to cancel school out of an abundance of caution and, through the collaborative efforts with law enforcement today, we feel confident that the threat is not credible.

At this point, we are prepared for normal operation of school tomorrow, Friday, November 8. Again, out of an abundance of caution we will have an increased law enforcement presence at the start of the day and, as always in situations like this, we will maintain a heightened level of vigilance.

We know that with incidents like this many rumors spread quickly and many people want to know more details than we can share. In this case there are few additional details to share. What we can confirm is that the threat was not related to any previous incident and was not targeted at anything or anybody specific other than the schools.
