Telluride District Preschool Staff

Citlali Casillas

Hi! My name is Citlali Casillas, I am from México. I have been in Telluride for 17 years and I love it! I also graduated from Telluride High School.

Currently I am the director of Telluride District Preschool and also a Spanish co-teacher in the PK classroom. I started working for the program in 2013. When I heard that the director then was looking to start a bilingual program, I said “I am in!” I love working with young children because I believe in early education. To me early learning is the foundation for a child. I love being the children’s learning facilitator and helping them reach their best potential. Setting them up for success starts at a young age. What I most love about children is their eagerness to learn new things, their curiosity, energy, resilience, and their uniqueness.

Jenny Botenhagen

Having grown up in Telluride in the 70’s, and myself graduating from THS, I am thrilled to be working with the school’s newest and youngest members. It is a real privilege to introduce these children to the joys of learning, teaching them to navigate being part of a group, and facilitating the beginning of new friendships. I am passionate about the importance of early childhood education, especially social and emotional learning, laying down a strong foundation for future learning success. I strive to provide a nurturing environment where all children can thrive and be contributing members of our classroom community.

Gabriela Guerrero

I have been a part of the Telluride District Preschool team for almost three years and counting. Working with children is so rewarding and I love that I get to have the opportunity to be a part of their learning, growth and development. Overall, my goal is to provide a welcoming, nurturing, and positive learning experience for all children.

Ann Kochara

My name is Ann Kochara. I am the Early Childhood Specialist for Telluride District Preschool and 4 other preschools in Telluride.  I have been at Telluride District Preschool for 10 years working in the classroom as a teacher and as an itinerate specialist.  The thing I enjoy most is seeing the excitement in children as they learn new things.

Brittany Kohari

I'm Brittany Kohari.  I have been in Education for 11 years, working in Grades Pre-K to 2nd. I am starting my second year as an English teacher at TDP. There is much joy in working with children and their families, but what I enjoy the most is observing the growth children make and the pride they feel as they learn new things.

Rosa Soto

My name is Rosa Soto. I have lived in Telluride for 7 years and I love the town. It is a very involved community, and being surrounded by nature, mountains, waterfalls is healthy for anyone. I am a Spanish Teacher and I have been in TDP for two years. Working with children has been a challenge for me. I never imagined working with children and now I can say it is my vocation, children are full of good energy that is transmitted to whoever is around them. Children act without malice, they react to their feelings, and teaching them to differentiate their emotions and working on their emotions is our job and I enjoy it.
